The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce holds a monthly Membership Mixer. The next one will take place at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on June 12th beginning at 4:30pm. Tickets are $3.
The annual Active Living Expo will take place at Active Generations on May 3 from 9am - 2pm. Admission is free, and 60 local businesses and services will be in attendance.
The 20th annual Prairie Family Business Conference will take place at the Romkota Best Western Hotel on March 29-30. Tickets are $540 for Prairie Family Business Association members and $750 for non-members; tickets for the buffet only are $42.
The Winterfest of Wheels indoor car show will take place at the Sioux Falls Convention Center from February 10-12. Tickets are $9 per day or $15 for a weekend pass and children 12 and under are admitted free. All profits go to support Cure Kids Cancer.
The exhibit Carl Grupp Permanent Art Collection Highlights is showing at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana College until January 25. This is a free exhibit and the gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10 am-5 pm and Saturday from noon-5 pm. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on January 13 from 5-7pm which will feature a Directors talk by Dr. Lindsay J. Twa.
The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society currently has too many homeless animals; they are almost full and have seen a huge jump in the number of animals that find their way to their doors. The Society recently held Howliday Open House to help raise money to support all the extra animals they have to feed and house.
The 9th annual Winter Wonderland will kick-off on November 19 at Falls Park. Between 6 and 9pm 400 thousand lights will be lit, Santa and Mrs Claus will appear, there will be cookies and hot chocolate, live reindeer, music, horse-drawn wagon rides and zoo animals to see. Free bus and trolley rides will be provided from downtown to Falls Park.
